The City is continuing to closely monitor the water main issue on Alsek Road and is awaiting parts to complete the necessary repairs.
On Tuesday, June 10, crews excavated a section of Alsek Road, between Tatchun Road and Donjek Road, to assess a leak and determine repair work.
As the required parts were not immediately available, the excavation has been backfilled to ensure public safety and allow for continued road use until the work can begin.
This has resulted in water running along the roadway. While this may cause concern for residents, it is not posing a risk or causing damage. Repairs to the water main will proceed as soon as parts arrive.
The City appreciates the public’s patience and understanding.
