The City is providing two detour options for Millennium Trail users as a section of the Millennium Trail in Riverdale continues to be closed due to erosion.
Each option maintains connectivity to the trail:
Accessible, paved detour
The accessible, paved detour is available along Nisutlin Drive and Lewes Boulevard. This route meets accessibility standards and is suitable for all users, including those with mobility aids.
Unpaved detour
The unpaved detour follows informal, unpaved trails. Trail users should be aware this route does not meet accessibility standards and may be uneven or difficult to navigate.
The City appreciates the cooperation and patience of Millennium Trail users. Please use the route that best meets your needs, stay out of closed areas, and follow posted signage. Barricades and signs are in place to protect public safety.
Detours will remain until a permanent trail realignment is complete. Planning for the realignment is underway and updates will be provided as work progresses.
Our interactive trail map is up-to-date with the detours indicated, along with the status of other trails within the municipal boundaries. whitehorse.ca/trails
