
The City’s contractor is scheduled to repave the intersection at Two Mile Hill and Range Road beginning Friday, August 14.
Road reconstruction
Milling and paving for the eastbound lanes and westbound lanes will be completed separately. Eastbound lane work will occur between August 14 and 15, during which time access to and from Range Road will be closed south of the intersection. Westbound lane work will occur between August 16 and 17, during which time access to and from Range Road will be closed north of the intersection.
From August 14 to 17, traffic along Two Mile Hill will be reduced to single lane traffic in the construction zone and there will be no left turns on to Range Road.
Emergency vehicles will be permitted access through Range Road in the event of an emergency.
Transit operations
Detours and temporary bus stop closures will be in place during construction.
On August 14 and 15, Route 101 (City Central) buses will travel via Two Mile Hill and the Alaska Highway. The bus stops located at the Whitehorse Public Safety Building and the Whitehorse Operations Building will be closed for this period.
On August 16 and 17, Routes 101 (City Central), 202 (Porter Creek West), and 402 (Whistle Bend West) will detour through Industrial Road and Copper Road to Yukon University. Bus stops on Range Road located at Rhine Way, Vimy Place, and Normandy Road will be closed for this period.
Transit users can expect delays and should use the nearest available transit stops while closures are in place. Use the TransLoc app to see where your bus is in real-time.
What to expect
Work will be happening throughout the day with breaks during the peak morning and afternoon periods to help alleviate congestion.
Residents are advised to take alternative routes if possible and plan their travel accordingly.
Please travel with care, reduce speed, and follow traffic controllers and construction signage.
