Changes to parking regulations in Whitehorse will come into effect on Tuesday, July 1.
New parking regulations include:
- Meter fees will be 50 cents for 15 minutes with meters in effect from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Saturday.
- The expired meter fine will be $40, with a $20 discount if paid within one business day.
- Fines for overtime parking at a parking meter, exceeding the permitted parking period and parking more than one metre from a parking meter will be $40.
- The fine for returning to a parking spot contrary to parking time restrictions will be $50.
- Fines for failure to display a parking permit will be $75.

The updated regulations were approved as part of the City’s 2025-2027 Operating Budget.
