Shipyards Park
Shipyards Park is located along the bank of the Yukon River on Second Avenue. This park was designed to be enjoyed year-round and offers a large open space for festivals and community events.
Park amenities include:
- Frank Slim Building
- Indoor public washrooms
- Fireplace Room
- Jumpstart Inclusive Playground
- Approximately 9,500 square feet
- Designed to accommodate sensory, cognitive, and physical disabilities
- Gazebo Firepit
- Covered Stage
- Picnic Gazebo
- Riverfront Firepit
- Skating Loop (also used in Summer)
- Toboggan Hill (also used in Summer)
The entire park or the following outdoor areas within the park can be booked during public hours of operation:
- Gazebo firepit, Riverfront firepit, and covered stage
Booking hours for outdoor private events are limited to the following hours of operation:
- 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday
- 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, Saturday to Sunday
Exceptions made for special public events.

Frank Slim Building
Amenities include the Fireplace Room, public washrooms, and free public Wi-Fi.
Public washrooms are open:
- Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Saturday to Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Fireplace Room is open to the public daily from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Unfortunately, the Fireplace Room is not a bookable space for private events at this time. Exceptions can be made for special public events after 4 p.m.
Closed for Holidays: Christmas Day and New Year’s Day
