Program Information

Location: After the bell rings, participants will meet in the gym.

Pick-up: Participants will be signed out from the playground closest to the parking lot. All participants must be signed out by 4:30pm.
Note: Late sign-outs may result in the removal of a participant from the program.

What to bring: This is an outdoor program. Please send weather-appropriate clothing, a water bottle, and everything your child will be taking home from school that day.

Snack: A snack is provided.

Cold Weather Notice:
If the temperature (including wind chill) drops below -25°C, programming will move indoors and participants must be picked up from inside the school at 4:30 p.m.
If temperatures drop below -35°C, the program will be cancelled. Families will be notified of cancellations as soon as possible.

Meet the AYAS Physical Activity Leaders

As a born and raised Yukoner, Alicia has always enjoyed the outdoors and being on the land with her family in Carmacks. She is an aspiring teacher in the Yukon Native Teacher Education Program (YNTEP) and an environmental youth advocate with To Swim and Speak With Salmon. Alicia loves working with youth and believes that confidence, culture, and belonging grow strongest when learning happens both in the classroom and on the land. As a member of the Little Salmon Carmacks First Nation, she hopes to help strengthen language, identity, and land connection for the next
generation of students. Outside of AYAS, she enjoys snowboarding at Mount Sima, unwinding at the Eclipse Nordic Hotsprings, or spending time with her nephew.

Morgan is the Active Yukon After School Program Coordinator, bringing energy, creativity, and a deep passion for active living to the role. With a lifelong love for the outdoors, Morgan thrives when exploring, playing, and participating in activities that keep her moving. Morgan has worked in recreation her whole life and is currently completing the Bachelor of Education After Degree (BEAD) program, blending hands-on experience with formal training in teaching and child development. Morgan’s strong background in both recreation and education allows her to design engaging, inclusive programs that support kids in building skills and confidence. Her commitment to inspiring children to stay active and discover the joy of movement shines through in every program she leads.

Bibi is an Iranian-Canadian Instructor of CGC. She’s been living in Whitehorse since July 2011, and working for CGC since April 2019. She loves working with kids and having physical activities with them, specially outdoor. She enjoys watching kids to be happy, healthy and energetic. in her free
time she loves to bike, hike, and walk for long hours.
