Facility Booking
The City of Whitehorse has a diverse selection of parks and recreation facilities to host your next event.
Recreation Services operates a wide range of recreational facilities including the Canada Games Centre, Takhini Arena and the Mount McIntyre Recreation Centre.
Our Parks department operates the the Frank Slim Building in Shipyards Park, Rotary Park and the Robert Service Campground.
Each facility offers spaces available to book for special events, meetings, conferences, group retreats, weddings or sporting events. Click here for our Guide to Facility Rental to find out capacities, room layouts, and amenities available.
Canada Games Centre
The Canada Games Centre is a community recreation facility that also offers a wide range of facilities to book for your function, including meeting rooms, birthday party rentals, sports teams and league rentals, and special events. Booking for this facility is done through Recreation Services Facility Booking Clerk.
How to book
Meeting rooms, ATCO Ice, Northwestel Arena, Coca-Cola Fieldhouse and Powerade Flexihall can be booked online: Facility Booking.

Book a Parks facility
Looking to host your next event in one of our beautiful Parks facilities? Whether you’re planning a small gathering or a large public celebration, we offer a variety of outdoor spaces for any occasion. Our facilities are available for both private and public events, and you can book them year-round.
Please note that pinatas and water balloons are not permitted at City parks and public spaces. This includes both indoor and outdoor spaces in the parks.
We offer a range of facilities to suit your event needs, from large open spaces to intimate areas with amenities. All fees include 5% GST.
Full day: $965.40 / non-profit: $482.71 +GST
Half day (6 hours or less): $482.71 / non-profit: $241.61 +GST
Fireplace Room (hourly): $94.26 / non-profit: $47.12 +GST
Gazebo & Riverfront firepits (hourly): $79.25 / non-profit: $39.62 +GST
Covered stage (hourly): $79.25 / non-profit: $39.62 +GST

The campground is closed for the 2025 season.
The fenced dog park behind Takhini Arena will be available to book for 6 hours at a time beginning in May 2026.

Smaller, private events
Private events are smaller, personal gatherings, exclusive to a specific group and not open to the public. For example: birthday parties, staff barbecues, school field trips.

Public, commercial, or large private events
Public events are large, widely-advertised events that invite the general public to participate. For example: Canada Day, Fireweed Market, Yukon River Quest.
Large, private events are well-planned and open to a specific group with an expected attendance of 200 or more. These events are not advertised to the public. For example: conferences, retreats, and corporate events.
Submit a booking request form for public, commercial or large public events or to seek authorization for events in other parks, trails or green spaces.
For small, private events:
- sign a Parks Rental Agreement
- pay the rental fee (no liability insurance required)
For public, and large private events
- sign a Parks Rental Agreements
- pay the rental fee
- provide liability insurance ($3 million coverage naming the City of Whitehorse as an additional insured)
- arrange a pre-event meeting with the parks & public spaces coordinator at least two weeks prior to the event. For large events of more than 200 people, a meeting at least one month in advance is required.

Recreation Services coordinates School Facilities through the Joint Use Agreement for after school community use of Whitehorse school and outdoor fields. It’s important for all interested renters to review the deadlines, terms and responsibilities in the Agreement prior to submitting their request to the city for space. Mount McIntyre Recreation Centre is located on Sumanik Drive and is home to Tennis Yukon, the Whitehorse Curling Club and the Whitehorse Cross Country Ski Club.
The City of Whitehorse schedules use of the Grey Mountain Room, kitchen and parking lot.
Grey Mountain Room details
Size: 273 sq m (2,940 sq ft)
Seating for up to 160 people banquet style seating

Kitchen details
Use of kitchen can be added to a room rental, and includes stoves, sinks, dish sanitizer, fridge and counter space to be used as a prep area. A license to use the kitchen and is required for any public food service.

Takhini Arena is centrally located off Two Mile Hill, and is the largest spectator seating venue with 1535 seats. The arena is available for ice bookings October to March, and dry floor bookings from May to August. The arena features an NHL ice sheet, lobby, concession, mezzanine with kitchen, dressing rooms, storage and tiered spectator seating.
